Vaccinations
Vaccinations and annual health checks are Important for protecting your pet from disease through vaccination, and detecting any other health issue or disease that may be detected on physical exam. Puppies and kittens are also more at risk of acquiring disease and require a series of booster shots for protection. During your vaccination appointment we can offer the following:
- A full physical examination
- Fear free handling and approach
- Annual heartworm injection
- A tailored vaccination schedule for your pet
- Parasite treatment
- Titre testing on request
- An opportunity to discuss any other health or behaviour concerns

Desexing
Desexing your pet not only prevents unwanted litters, but also has many health benefits for your pet. These benefits include a reduced risk of mammary tumours, pyometra (pus-filled uterus), phantom pregnancies, prostate problems, as well as reducing behavioural issues such as urine marking, roaming, and fighting.
Desexing your pet will involve a day in hospital, and general anaesthesia. What we offer:

Dentistry
Dental disease is a common occurrence in dogs and cats and requires life-long management and prevention. Some breeds are more susceptible to dental disease and factors such as tooth crowding, the age of the animal, and other genetic, concurrent disease or lifestyle factors can influence the development of dental disease in any individual.

When plaque and bacteria form on the teeth it leads to gingivitis, or inflammation of the gums. Dental scaling of the teeth can reverse gingivitis and prevent further progression of disease. When gingivitis is left untreated it can lead to periodontal disease, which is a more severe disease resulting in infection and inflammation of the tissues that surround and support the teeth. Left unchecked this leads to bone and tissue damage around the root, eventually causing loss of attachment, pocketing, gingival recession and bone resorption.

- A Comprehensive Oral Health Assessment and Treatment (COHAT) which includes general anaesthesia, assessment, cleaning, and polishing
- Dental x-rays to assess attachment loss and detect early signs of periodontal disease

- A surgical plan and estimate for extractions (second procedure) if needed
- At home preventative care

Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services
At My Vets, we are equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for the diverse needs of your pets.
We have a range of equipment and medicines to assist us in diagnosis and treatment including:
- Electrocardiography (ECG)
- Xray
- Ultrasound
- In-house laboratory including serum chemistry, haematology, serology, urinalysis, and coagulation analysis to assist with snake bite diagnosis and treatment
- Microscopy
- Tonometer for measuring eye pressure

Fear Free
All our staff are Fear Free certified with the goal to prevent and alleviate fear, anxiety and stress in our patients.

What we offer:
- Tailored consultations for your pet including designated waiting areas, consultation rooms, or “carpark” visits.
- Special calming pheromones are infused throughout the hospital and used on towels and bedding
- Calming cat and dog music are used in the designated cat and dog wards

...then a behaviour consultation might be of help. When you book a behaviour consultation, our vets will support you with her understanding and a wealth of knowledge regarding animal behaviour. We will develop a collaborative plan that works best for your pet and family. We understand that behaviour training takes time and commitment, so that's why we will have check-ins and guide you along the way.
